My name is Edie Erickson and I am an instructional designer at Bay College and an adjunct graduate instructor for Michigan State University. Prior to working as an instructional designer, I was an elementary teacher for 9 years. I live in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula with my husband, Don, and our daughter, Charlotte. One of my favorite past times is traveling - my life pretty much consists of counting down the days until our next adventure! I'm also the proud owner of a 1954 Tini-Home (Michigan-made in Flint)! It's not pretty yet, but I have big plans!
As far as my credentials go, I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a focus in social studies from Baker College of Owosso. I graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was listed as one of only six students from my graduating class in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. I also earned a masters degree in educational technology through Michigan State University. I completed the program in the summer of 2014 with a 4.0 gpa. In addition, I am an active member of ISTE and MACUL and was named the 2016 MACUL Technology Using Teacher of the Year. I am also a proponent of open education and pedagogy and was named a 2017 Designing with OER Fellow through the Open Education Group. I was named the TORCH Award winner for Fall 2018 by Bay College.
